Old Business:

·        We discussed giving a gift to the church from our association as a thank you for the use of facilities for our monthly meetings.  A suggestion was made that the Children’s department could use a hand-held microphone.  Val Schick made the above motion and to spend from $70 to $100 on the item.  Motion was seconded and passed.

·        We discussed having a board meeting to discuss more program activities for our monthly meetings.

·        Everyone had a chance to share beekeeping experiences with the newer people at tonight’s meeting.

·        Fred Case brought lots of burlap to share with all.  Thanks Fred!

·        There was a strong reminder to pay association dues for this year which should have been done in January.  $7.50 per person or $10 per couples membership.  Currently we only have 9 members!

·        All should keep an eye and ear out for any queen breeders with known good queens(hygienic) for possible donation to WSU studies.

·        Distribute queens from WSU in the fall instead of spring—ask WSU about it— we need to do it as a group.

·        Mentioned educational projects—community service for a “story board” Video?

·        More how-to displays for the fair.  Start planning ahead for fair entries.

·        Corrections:  In our Dec. 2003 minutes the syrup for feeding should read one sugar to one water.

·        Treasurers Report: as of 2/11/2003  $1270.10 savings, $873.54 checking, $58.00 petty cash.  A $ 600.00 outstanding check to Steve Shepherd.

·        Talked about donating bees for research to WSU about $300 for 3 lb. boxes at about $30 a box.   Motion was made and passed

·        Meeting adjorned at 8:20 p.m.
