Reports are that the Honey
Fest at the Woodinville Farmers Market went very well. We made up
four baskets and had lots of entries for the drawing. Four or Five
NWDBA members were there and there was a lot of interest from potential
new members so we might see some new faces at our next meeting.

Regional Beekeepers Meeting
This years
Regional Beekeepers conference is being hosted by NW District Beekeepers
of Snohomish and will be held on Saturday October 25th, 2003 at the Best
Western, Cotton Tree Inn ,
2300 Market St., Mt Vernon, WA. 98273, tel. (360)- 428 - 5678
Guest speakers and dinner guests will be our research team from WSU, Dr.
Steve Shepphard, Jamie Strange, and additional staff.
We need door
prize donations! It doesn't have to be big or even related to
beekeeping. If you have something you can donate please bring it
to our Oct 11 meeting or contact Val Schick.
Doors and
registration table will open at 5pm (cocktails on your own) and dinner
buffet will be served at about 6:30 pm.
Our menu will be:
Premium Carved Prime Rib of Beef,
Classic Baked Potatoes with all the Trimmings,
Fresh Green Beans with walla walla Onions & Bacon,
Fresh Spring greens with Assorted Dressings,
Fresh baked assorted dinner Rolls,
Freshly Brewed Premium coffee and Hot Assorted Teas
Desserts will be provided by NWDBAssoc.members.

September Meeting
At the September meeting Lawrence will talk about
bee lore and trivia. Some is just pretty darn cool and some is
just funny. Come and enjoy some bee lore!
Rumor has it that
Brandon will be bringing some IVY honey to taste this week so bring your
taste buds along!
October Beekeeping
Continue to feed bees if necessary. Whether
bees need food or not, give one gallon of two-to-one sugar/water syrup
containing Fumidil-B.
November Beekeeping
All appliances, supers, etc. should be
cleaned and put in a dry place for next year Protect dark combs from wax moth
damage.
WSBA 2003 Conference
The
WSBA 2003 Conference will be a joint meeting with the Oregon State
Association November 6-8 at Hood River Oregon. This is a very beautiful
spot on the Columbia River. This is a well attended meeting and draws
many great speakers. You don't want to miss out on this
