Classes and Certification: Apprentice Level

An apprentice level beekeeping class will be offered by The Northwest District Beekeeping Association (NWDBA) Spring of 2018 from 8AM-12:30PM on February 24th, March 3rd, and March 10th (you need to attend all three days). The class will be held at Christ the King Lutheran Church, 1305 Pine Ave, Snohomish WA. We have switched to this new three day format to try to allow more time for students to think about the information and ask questions. Enrollment is $100 and includes a copy of the Apprentice Beekeeper Handbook, a years membership for the individual in NWDBA, and the apprentice level beekeeper certification test and certificate through The Washington State Beekeepers Association (WASBA).   If you are already a member of NWDBA for 2018 we will deduct $20 from the cost of the class.

Interested students must pre-register for the course by contacting the club president at president@nwdba.org. Please state that you are interested in taking the course and provide your name, email address, and phone number (if you are enrolling more than just yourself please indicate that).  Also indicate whether you are already a member of NWDBA. Enrollment is limited to 40 students. I will respond to emails to let you know if there was space for you in the class or not.  If there is space I will email you the forms that you need to fill out and request payment.  Once payment is received I will send you an email acknowledging that you are enrolled in the class.  You can also enroll in the class at the club’s monthly meetings on the second tuesday of each month (held at Christ the King Lutheran Church starting at 6PM).

Please keep in mind that even after you take the apprentice class you should make every effort you can to attend the monthly club meetings – the meetings will keep you focused on what you need to do at each point in the year, and will let you know what problems other beekeepers are dealing with in each month and thus what you should be looking out for.
