June Meeting – Swarms and their Behavior
June 11 @ 6:00 pm - 8:30 pm
6pm Beginner Hour // 7pm Speaker
Charllie Vanden Heuvel reacquainted himself with tending to honey bees as he settled down. Rather than dipping his toe into the hobby, he dove in through attending multiple bee clubs, entering the Oregon Master Beekeeper Program and, most helpful, mentoring other beekeepers throughout the Columbia Gorge. Currently at the Master Level of the Oregon Master Beekeeper Program and an Instructor for the Apprentice Program for the Columbia Gorge region.
Our monthly meetings are free of charge and open to the public
Our beginner hour is aimed primarily at beekeepers in their first few seasons of beekeeping and we cover seasonal & local topics, trying to keep as much time for Q&A as possible. (We also offer classes for those who are not yet keeping bees and/or are starting out)
We also have experienced beekeepers available to talk during the break between the beginner hour and speaker for any questions we couldn’t get to.
Experienced beekeepers are encouraged to attend to share their perspectives and help our new beekeepers along.
