6pm Beginner Hour 7pm Speaker   Dr. Brandon Hopkins, Associate Professor at WSU will be presenting a talking on using brood breaks to improve the efficiency of Varroa Mite Treatments. Dr. Hopkins received his PhD from WSU and had worked on cryogenic preservation of bee semen in order to improve breeding stocks in the Us and on overwintering hives in climate controlled buildings to improve winter survival. 6pm Beginner Hour // 7pm Speaker Charllie Vanden Heuvel reacquainted himself with tending to honey bees as he settled down. Rather than dipping his toe into the hobby, he dove in through attending multiple bee clubs, entering the Oregon Master Beekeeper Program and, most helpful, mentoring other beekeepers throughout the Columbia Gorge.
